GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is organised every year by IIT’s , there are 7 IIT’s and every year different IIT conducts GATE exam Indian Institute of Technology , Kharagpur conducted GATE 2014 Online Exam.

GATE Online Examination 2014 held successfully at its various centres, this year almost all exams of GATE, means streams of B.Tech (Engineering) like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Computer Science etc. are Online. Last Year Only Aeronautics Engineering organised online. In One day two exam was held one in morning and another in evening. As we said in our previous article and also announced by GATE authority that on 28 March 2014 result will be declared in morning at 10:00 AM.

With this exam students can take admission in M.Tech programme and now a days so many PSU’s joined with GATE authority. These PSU companies recruit candidates as GET’s and selection is based on score of GATE and Interview in 70:30 means if a candidate having score in toppers then he/she didn’t required to speak in interview only presence of candidate is fine.

## GATE Result 2014 Declared On 28th March 2014

After second day so many candidates of GATE 2014 Online Exam said that there question paper was hard then first day students so the dear candidates don’t afraid about calulation because IIT made a software by which marking will be done in such a way that easy and hard paper equate like example:

Candidate of easy paper secure 50 marks he will be ranked 2500 and another candidate got hard paper got 40 marks then he will be ranked 1600, thats how GATE Score calculation will be done.

GATE 2014 Question Paper Pattern | Marking Scheme Of GATE 2014

In all the papers, there will be a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks are in General Aptitude (GA).

In the papers bearing the codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PI, TF and XE, the Engineering Mathematics will carry around 13% of the total marks, the General Aptitude section will carry 15% of the total marks and the remaining percentage of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.

GATE 2014 Syllabus

In the papers bearing the codes AR, CY, GG, MA, PH and XL, the General Aptitude section will carry 15% of the total marks and the remaining 85% of the total marks is devoted to the subject of the paper.

### GATE 2014 would contain questions of two different types in various papers:

(i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carrying 1 or 2 marks each in all papers and sections. These questions are objective in nature, and each will have a choice of four answers, out of which the candidate has to mark the correct answer(s).

(ii) Numerical Answer Questions of 1 or 2 marks each in all papers and sections. For these questions the answer is a real number, to be entered by the candidate using the virtual keypad. No choices will be shown for this type of questions.

## Marking Scheme

For 1-mark multiple-choice questions, 1/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. Likewise, for 2-marks multiple-choice questions, 2/3 marks will be deducted for a wrong answer. There is no negative marking for numerical answer type questions.

List Of PSU’s Through GATE 2014

### General Aptitude (GA) Questions

In all papers, GA questions carry a total of 15 marks. The GA section includes 5 questions carrying 1 mark each (sub-total 5 marks) and 5 questions carrying 2 marks each (sub-total 10 marks).

## Note on Negative Marking for Wrong Answers

For a wrong answer chosen for the multiple choice questions, there would be negative marking. For1-mark multiple choice questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. Likewise, for 2-mark multiple choice questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. However, there is no negative marking for a wrong answer in numerical answer type questions

# How To Calculate Score Of GATE 2014 | New Calculation In GATE 2014

How To Calculate Score Of GATE 2014 | New Calculation In GATE 2014

After the evaluation of the answers, the raw marks obtained by a candidate will be converted to a normalized GATE Score.

From 2013 onwards, the GATE score of a candidate is being computed using the formula given below.

The GATE Score of a candidate is computed from:

S= S q + ( S t - S q ) M - Mq M ¯t - Mq

where,

$S$ = GATE Score (normalized) of a candidate, $M$ = Marks obtained by a candidate in a paper, $Mq$ = Qualifying Marks for general category candidates in the paper, $M$  ¯t = Average Marks of top 0.1% or 10 of the candidates (whichever is higher) who appeared in the paper, $St$ = GATE Score assigned to  $M$  ¯t, $Sq$ = GATE Score assigned to  $Mq$
$Mq$

is usually 25 marks (out of 100) or
$\mu$

+ σ, whichever is larger. Here
$\mu$

is the mean and
$\sigma$

is the standard deviation of marks of all the candidates who appeared in that paper.

After the declaration of the results, a GATE Scorecard will be issued to all the candidates appeared in a paper whose marks are equal to or above the qualifying marks of SC/ST/PD candidates in that paper. There is no provision for the issue of Additional GATE scorecard

The GATE 2014 Committee has the authority to decide the qualifying mark/score for each GATE paper. In case any claim or dispute arises in respect of GATE 2014, it is hereby made absolutely clear that the Courts and Tribunals in Kolkata and Kolkata alone shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to entertain and settle any such dispute or claim.
